Vance to host ‘The Charlie Kirk Show’ in tribute to slain friend

Vice President JD Vance will host “The Charlie Kirk Show” on Sept. 15, honoring his slain friend, Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated Sept. 10.

Vance announced his appearance Sept. 14 on X, posting a photo of his desk setup with a microphone and notepad. The program will stream at noon EDT on Rumble, Vance said.

The vice president has spoken publicly about his close friendship with Kirk. In a lengthy tribute shared on X hours after the assassination, Vance recalled meeting him in 2017 after an appearance on Tucker Carlson’s FOX News program. He said Kirk offered critical support when he launched his Senate campaign in 2021 and credited Kirk as pivotal to his victory the following year.

“Charlie Kirk was a true friend,” Vance wrote, later adding, “And now that Charlie is in heaven, I’ll ask him to talk to big man directly on behalf of his family, his friends, and the country he loved so dearly. You ran a good race, my friend. We’ve got it from here.”

Vance and his wife, Usha, flew to Utah Sept. 11 to accompany Charlie’s widow, Erika Kirk, and their children as Air Force Two carried his casket to Arizona. Upon arriving in Arizona, Erika walked off the plane hand-in-hand with Usha Vance as the vice president followed alongside the casket, according to FOX News.
