Students for Life Action launches pro-life lobbying campaign in 26 states

Students for Life Action (SFLAction) launched Jan. 6 a major lobbying effort in 26 states as part of its “Make America Pro-Life Again” Roadmap. 

The initiative, which kicked off in Montana, aims to promote legislation that protects preborn children, addresses the dangers of chemical abortion pills, and advocates for environmental and public health safeguards. The Roadmap also includes promoting family-centered measures, such as expanded paid leave and child tax credits, as part of its framework for implementing life-saving policies.

Chanel Jacobs, vice president of political affairs for SFLAction, called attention to the critical need for state-level efforts following the 2024 election cycle. 

“As state legislative sessions begin, the Pro-Life Generation calls on all elected leaders to protect life in law and in service, especially in light of the loss of the most pro-abortion, Presidential ticket in U.S. history,” Jacobs said. “Legislation related to the number one method and means of abortion – Chemical Abortion Pills – need special attention, as women, the preborn, and even the environment face risks from the deadly pills.”

The passage of pro-abortion constitutional amendments in several states poses challenges. However, Jacobs expressed confidence in the path forward.
