New report on prosecutorial misconduct calls for Oklahoma justice system reform

The Oklahoma Appleseed Center for Law and Justice released a new report on prosecutorial misconduct.

“The Truth Will Always Come Out: Prosecutorial Misconduct, Brady Violations, and Lack of Justice in Oklahoma” particularly focuses on the failure to disclose exculpatory evidence as required by the landmark Brady v. Maryland ruling, in Oklahoma criminal trials.

According to OK Appleseed, the report reveals systemic failures that resulted in numerous wrongful convictions.

It also sheds light on thelack of accountability faced by prosecutors in the state, according to OK Appleseed.

The center’s research found that many convictions in the state were tainted by suppressed evidence.
